Chain Tensioner

I painted a skateboard wheel for the drive chain tensioner. I will post photos of the tensioner once Ive completed it.

One year an three days later... It runs.

Before I show the video, I wanted to highlight a very crucial part. Pictured are the needle float valves that sit inside the carburetor just under the floats. These needles are responsible for shutting off the flow of gas to the float bowl when its not needed. The small pin that protrudes from the center is spring loaded, and the one on the left is seized. The one on the right is new. This single four dollar part kept the bike from running for a week, its amazing how important some parts on a bike really are.

So without further ado, here is the first few kicks of its new life:

Better Mistakes

Battery box tray: Check.
Electronics housing: Check.
Gas tank. Check.
Wiring harness. Wait what?

I've been working diligently on the bike, wish I could say the same about the blog... What can I say, the work is going really well. Thanks to my recent sale of my other bike (Ugly Betty 1976 XS650) I was able to generate some more funds for the essentials. A beautiful ribbed mustang 3.3 gal gas tank from Lowbrow Customs, clutch and brake controls, throttle control, new seat springs, gas cap, and tank fittings. Shes really starting to look like a bike now.

I just have to figure out the wiring... yikes.
